The
Christian Education programming at First Congregational United Church of
Christ is designed to help people of all ages discover the depth of
God’s love.
The
Sunday School program for children and youth enables them to grow in
their faith and love of God. Sunday
School for ages 3 through high school begins the week after Labor Day,
and continues until the week before Memorial Day, at 8:30 a.m.
It teaches God’s love and the Bible’s lessons using a variety
of engaging activities and multimedia resources.
Our teachers are dedicated to helping children as they embark on
their faith journey. Our
church is a Safe Sanctuary facility, so parents know the children are in
a safe and caring environment.
Adults
have a variety of opportunities for education and Christian friendship,
on Sundays and through the week. Sundays
at 8:45 a.m. is a Bible study led by Rev. Chris.
During the same time there is often another study on a Biblical
or timely topic for adults. On
many Sunday evenings adults gather for a book study.
Confirmation
at First Congregational is an exciting and meaningful rite of passage
for the youth of the church.
The confirmation program includes classes led by the pastor,
guidance from mentors, off-site retreats, and other programming to help
the students make informed and inspired decisions related to their faith
commitments and ultimately full membership into the church.
