"...
Respect each child, foster independence, encourage creativity..."

environment helps children transition into upcoming educational
settings, both socially and academically.
Our curriculum includes:

Creative art experiences
Large & small motor skills
Outdoor and indoor play
We have a large gym for indoor play and a fenced in
playground with climbing equipment and a bike path for outdoor play.
Family events and activities are provided monthly.
Our Mission:
Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare is a service of the
First Congregational United Church of Christ. First opened in
1969, Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare is a non-denominational, non-profit, self-supporting facility.
Enrollment Policy:
Admission is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with
priority consideration given to children who attend five days a
week. Preschool and school-age programs are available, including
before and after school programs and a full day summer program.
We partner with the Fort Atkinson School
District and provide four year old kindergarten classes.
Philosophy:
We follow a child-oriented curriculum based on learning
through play. We help children appreciate the value of being both
universal and unique. Our approach encourages respect for each
child as an individual. We foster independence, self reliance and a
positive self-concept. Children are directly involved in the learning
process emphasizing individual creativity and spontaneous problem
solving.
Staffing/Licensing:
We are licensed by the State of Wisconsin for
children ages 2½ through 10 years. Our lead teachers are state
certified with Early Childhood or Elementary degrees. They also maintain
a current certification in CPR and First Aid and are required to obtain
continuing education on an annual basis.
