Our Mission:
Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare is a service of the
First Congregational United Church of Christ. First opened in
1969, Fort Atkinson Preschool and Childcare is a non-denominational, non-profit, self-supporting facility.
Enrollment Policy:
Admission is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with
priority consideration given to children who attend five days a
week. Preschool and school-age programs are available, including
before and after school programs and a full day summer program.
Philosophy:
We follow a child-oriented curriculum based on learning
through play. We help children appreciate the value of being both
universal and unique. Our approach encourages respect for each
child as an individual; individual responsibility of each child toward
him/herself, peers and adults; independence, self-reliance and a
positive self-concept. Children are directly involved in the learning process.
Staffing/Licensing:
The Center is licensed through the State of Wisconsin for
children ages 2½ to 10 years. All of our teachers are state
certified lead teachers and are certified in CPR and First Aid.
