2009 Annual Report
Lend-a Hand Society

The Lend-a-Hand Society meets in the Werthmann Room at 1:30 pm the second Thursday of the month; nine (9) months of the year.  Two other meetings included mincemeat making and Country Fair.  There are two (2) potluck meetings that being in June and September.

At the present time, we have 22 active members & 5 inactive members.  We also have a list of women from Women’s Fellowship who have offered to help us when time of need comes along, and we would like to thank them at this time.

On March 28, 2009 we served lunch and a.m. snack to the Wisconsin Christian Conference.

On April 18, 2009 we served our annual supper to the Sea Scouts.  This is a combination of boy & girl scouts, ages 14 to 18 from all over Wisconsin and surrounding states.  Several members of our church, men & women helped with this project and we surely thank them.

On April 24, 2009 we served a luncheon to the Volunteers of Countryside Home.

On May 8 & 9 we ran a soup, sandwich and pie kitchen for the Rummage Sale.

On May 13th we did a supper for the Confirmation Class, Mentors and relatives.

At our May meeting we made and delivered fruit plates to all shut-ins, 16 in all.

Some of our members also baked things to sell at Relay for Life Bake Sales.

Twice during the summer vacation of our choir the Lend-a-Hand ladies became the “Singing Angels”.  Good or bad we love to sing so thanks for listening to us.

In October, we made our mincemeat to sell at Country Fair.  We also have our rag rugs, brooms, knives and dishtowels available in the Church office year-round.

At our December meeting, we made up 2 huge boxes of homemade Christmas cookies that were sent to the residents at Fairhaven to have after the Vesper Services.

This year we served four (4) funeral luncheons following the service.  The Lend-a-Hand ladies were also active in the kitchen for the World Dairy Expo dinners and the Country Fair luncheon.  You will also find us lending a hand on the peanut project and folding broadcasters.

The money we earned was donated or given to many deserving projects and or people of our church.

As you can see, we once again have been very active.  We invite all to join us – enjoy a dessert meeting once a month and have a chance to Lend-a-Hand.

Our Motto is:
Look up and not down
Out and not in
Forward and not back
And Lend-a-Hand
